Marcia Scheiner, Executive Director and Founder
Marcia Scheiner is the Executive Director and Founder of Asperger Syndrome Training & Employment Partnership. Prior to founding ASTEP, Ms. Scheiner spent 25 years in the financial services industry, most recently as CEO of Centrally Managed Businesses for Zurich Financial Services. She has also held management positions at Chase Manhattan Bank and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Ms. Scheiner is a graduate of Wellesley College and has an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. She is the parent of a young adult son with Asperger Syndrome.
Harrison Potasnik, Program Manager
Harrison Potasnik is the Program Manager at Asperger Syndrome Training & Employment Partnership. Since receiving his B.A. in Psychology and English Literature from University of Colorado – Boulder, Harrison has worked as a direct service provider for individuals with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, and as an educator for students with learning and emotional challenges. Prior to joining ASTEP in the summer of 2013, he worked for a non-profit devoted to re-acclimating military veterans after service.
Tracy Powell-Rudy, Director of Corporate Engagement
Tracy Powell-Rudy has coordinated introductions between ASTEP and senior leaders at key Fortune 500 corporations. Through these efforts, and in collaboration with Diversity and Inclusion HR leadership, Tracy has helped ASTEP expand programs on the east coast, and establish them on the west. Prior to her work with ASTEP, Tracy spent six years in retained executive search, as part of a premier global search firm focused at VP through CEO levels. She successfully completed a wide variety of executive searches for several Fortune 50 corporations including; Controller, CIO, VP of Quality Assurance and Testing, VP Product Marketing Global Delivery Leader and Partner. Prior to working in executive search, Tracy managed the Northeast IT organization for a fortune 100 corporation and served in both management and staff positions in marketing and sales support, operations and engineering. Tracy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Manhattanville College and has a MS in Telecommunications Management from NYU Polytechnic University. She is the parent of a teenage daughter with Asperger Syndrome.
Amy Conn is the Director of Marketing and West Coast Representative at Asperger Syndrome Training and Employment Partnership. Amy graduated from Santa Clara University with a BS in Marketing, and spent 10 years in the retail industry working for Macy’s and May D&F in buying, planning and management. Amy left paid employment to raise two children, and worked extensively with her son who has Autism utilizing Behavioral Intervention.Amy has held numerous leadership roles in school parent groups and community philanthropic organizations, including Parent Group President for a four school district, President of the district fundraising foundation, and President of a philanthropic organization supporting a county family support center. Amy also volunteers at a Bay Area museum, captains a tennis team, and co-chairs an art lecture series.
